Dry and wet riser installations must comply with BS9990:2015, which sets out strict requirements for design, pressure performance, testing, and ongoing maintenance. These standards ensure the system operates reliably, giving emergency services confidence that water will be available exactly where it’s needed.

Our engineers design and install riser systems tailored to each building’s layout, height, and fire risk. Before installation, we work with the local fire service to confirm the required locations of inlets, outlets, and pipe routes. Every system is fitted using high-quality components and fully tested to ensure compliance and readiness.

Once installed, dry risers must undergo visual inspections every six months and a full wet pressure test annually. Wet risers require similar checks to verify continuous water supply and pump functionality. Regular servicing helps prevent leaks, corrosion, and pressure loss, ensuring long-term performance and compliance with regulations.

Before conducting a full wet test, we can perform a dry integrity check to detect potential leaks or damage. Any issues are resolved before the system is pressurised, protecting pipework and ensuring accurate results. This preventative approach helps maintain system integrity and reduces long-term maintenance costs.

We also supply and install compliant dry and wet riser signage as required by British Standards, helping the fire service locate connection points quickly in an emergency. For large sites with private hydrants, we provide inspection and maintenance to ensure hydrants remain operational and accessible at all times.
